What we collect, and why

We only collect what you type into a form. We do not buy data, and we do not build profiles about you from other sources.

Contact form
Name, email address, and the content of your message.
Become a host
Name, surname, email address, Instagram handle (optional), city, country, your motivation, and the venues you would use. You may also upload a video to our Google Drive folder.
Venue partnership
Your name and surname, email address, phone number, venue name, venue website (optional), city, capacity, and your pitch.

Every field marked with an asterisk is required — without it we cannot answer you. The rest is optional.

Legal basis

  • Your consent (art. 6.1.a RGPD) for answering your enquiry. You give it by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Steps before a contract (art. 6.1.b) when you apply to host an event or propose a venue.
  • Legitimate interest (art. 6.1.f) for aggregated, cookie-free traffic statistics and for keeping the site secure.

How long we keep it

  • Contact enquiries: 12 months after our last exchange.
  • Host and venue applications: 24 months, so we can come back to you for a future edition. Longer if we start working together.
  • Record of your consent: 3 years, as evidence that it was given.

After those periods the data is deleted. Ask us sooner and we will delete it sooner.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We rely on a small number of service providers, who may only process the data on our instructions:

Web3Forms
Delivers the contact, host and venue forms to our inbox.
Google
Hosts our email inbox, and the Drive folder for host application videos.
Vercel
Hosts the site and provides aggregated, cookie-free traffic statistics.
GitHub
Stores the site’s source code and serves a mirror of the site.
Meta
Runs the advertising pixel that measures our Facebook and Instagram ads.

Buying a ticket

Tickets are booked on Luma, not here. When you follow a ticket link you leave this site and Luma collects your details as its own data controller, under its own privacy policy. We receive the guest list for the event you signed up to, so we can run the night.

Data leaving the EU

Some of the providers above are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in place.

Your rights

Under the RGPD and Spanish law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD) you can ask us to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it is wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Restrict or object to how we use it.
  • Receive it in a portable format.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.

Write to us and we will reply within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority.

Automated decisions

We do not make any decision about you by purely automated means, and we do not profile you.

Cookies and the Meta Pixel

This site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our advertising. It loads when you arrive, sets a cookie (_fbp) and shares data with Meta Platforms, which may use it to attribute and target ads. You can opt out through your browser cookie settings and your Meta ad preferences.

Our own visitor statistics come from Vercel Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

Children

Our events are for adults. This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Contact and complaints

For anything about your data, write to hello@wemethere.events or here.singlesevents@gmail.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

Changes

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
